Adventure Time!

I have been on summer vacation for a few weeks now, and my sister just finished! What better way to celebrate both being done with school then by going on an adventure to a new restaurant! Blackberry Market is a cute little cafe-style restaurant in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. I have not really explored the towns around Naperville, which is something I regret because after exploring Glen Ellyn I wish I would have gone sooner! Glen Ellyn has the cutest downtown area with plenty of really good restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and shops! It was the perfect place to spend an afternoon with my little sister! We started out at Blackberry Market for lunch. I have heard about Blackberry Market for months now, and only good things! I could not wait to have the time to come and check it out!

I got the market side trio, which is three side dishes that you get to choose and it makes a meal. When you walk into the restaurant there is a glass case that has about 10 different sides to choose from and they vary daily. There are a few fan favorites that are always available such as the kale, chicken, or tuna salads. I decided to get the Dilly Shrimp Orzo salad (top right), Avocado and cucumber salad (bottom), and their chipotle sweet potatoes (left). I love how you can try multiple items on their menu so you can get a taste of what they are about! This is the perfect portion size and it also allows you to have more than one food (my favorite thing about it). The Dilly Shrimp Orzo was by far my favorite, so I highly suggest it if it is there when you go! It had a creamy sauce and bits of mango and tomato in it along with the shrimp and dill, very refreshing!

My sister got this beauty, the turkey apple and gouda sandwich with a cranberry compote! I had a bite and it was so tasty. I know this sandwich is a crowd favorite among people who have been there, so you will not be disappointed! I have a friend who comes here once a month and uses her Popular Pays app to get a free cinnamon roll (their specialty), and market side trio. If you do not know what Popular Pays is, it is an application on the iPhone where you can get free food, drinks, and activities based on how many followers you have on Instagram! I have it myself and I have used it for coffee multiple times at my favorite coffee shop at school! I will post about that when school starts again. Speaking of coffee, I also got an iced coffee from here and I added some cinnamon, one of the best coffees I have had!

I love Blackberry Market because they have such a wide range of food so it is a great place to take a friend, because whatever food you are feeling like eating they most likely have on the menu!
